Camping at Chatfield

For our last camping trip of the year, we decided we wanted to go to Chatfield for the weekend. It is close and has really nice full hookup campground. Phill and Jenny called and ask if we could keep Avery over the weekend because Jenny had to work and Phill had a scout campout. We told them we were going camping but Avery was welcome to come with us. So off we went camping with Avery. Phill and Diane and Avery left early afternoon to set up camp and then the girls came up that evening after work. Also Jody and Paul and their girls came up to camp with. On Saturday evening Mike and Brie and their boys showed up to suprise us and visited for awhile. Mostly we sat around and watched Avery play, we did find a really nice playground that we went to twice. We walked down to the lake and wadded and looked at the boats. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. Here are some pictures.

Slumber Party

Last weekend Phill and I went over to visit Phillip, Jenny and Avery. When it was time to go home we decided it would be fun to take Avery with us for a sleepover. Her parents quickly agreed that we could and that way they could sleep in. So off we went to our house. We love to have Avery over to spend time with us. After getting her bath from Grandpa it was off to bed. She is a good sleeper and went to bed about 9:30 and woke up around 7:30. Grandpa brought her in and put her in bed with me. So we had fun playing. Here are some pictures of her.

After awhile it was time to get up, here are some pictures of our Hurricane Avery (we affectionately call her, because she can take a clean house and within minutes it looks like this).

She loves to read books, and the peek-a-boo ones are her favorite.

Here are a few more pictures that Phill took of our new trailer. They are inside while we were all visiting. I think we had 11 people and 4 dogs. We had a wonderful time.

Camping/Our New Trailer

We were so excited to get our new trailer that we had to try it out. So last weekend we headed up to Estes Park. We sent Megan up early to try to get us a spot in Rocky Mountain, but alas they were all full. We finally found a spot in Elk Meadows Lodge and RV Park. It is just before you enter Rocky Mountain and we had a georgeous view of the mountains. We took the Lees with us. The Trailer was wonderful and we had fun trying it out. Here are a couple of pictures.

Dinner is ready, here we all are chowing down. I think my Chicken Stew is a favorite camping meal. It was Lindsey and Sarah's birthday and this was the meal they requested.

Easter

We had company for Easter. Joe and Marie and their kids came to spend the weekend in Denver. They finally got here Friday mid-morning after spending the night in the mountains in a Blizzard. They were here for Easter so we planned a big party. With lots of family. Everyone came but Grandma and Grandpa Waken and Sam, Grandma wasn't feeling good, and we missed having them over. How many people were at our house. Jody, Paul, Lindsey, Sarah Lee. Michael, Brie, Logan, Zander Lee. Phillip, Jenny Avery Waken. Joe, Marie, Veronica, Tyler, Samantha, Breena, Braelynn Haley and Phill, Diane and Megan Waken. Thats alot of people. We had a Easter Egg hunt, a big dinner and then colored easter eggs, tie-dyed t-shirts. Most of the men went to Priesthood session of conference so we girls stayed home, had a wonderful time visiting , playing cards and just hanging out. Here are some pictures of our weekend. Joe and Marie thanks for coming over and letting us celebrate Easter with you. It was fun to have little ones in the house again.
