Wind Storm

On Dec 30th in the wee hours of the morning we had gale force winds. The cracking woke us up and as we investigated we discovered that our side fence had been blown over. The wind was strong enough to break 4 of our 4x4 center posts. Sadie our little Chi-hua-hua was totally freaked out by the wind. She could not stop shaking and whining. I finally sent her to the basement to sleep with Amanda. Phill grabbed his camera and took a picture of our fence. Phillip and Jenny also had fences go down at their house. There were fences and telephone poles down all over town. Many people woke up to find their lawn furniture now in someone elses yard.
Our fence blown down. We tried to rig a temporary fence to keep our dogs in our yard and the next door neighbors dogs in his. But alas the next door neighbors big Lab just pushed and chewed his way through and under the fence and had fun playing with Codie and Sadie.

Grandpa Wakens Birthday

December 26th was Grandpa Wakens Birthday. We all went to Grandpas house. All cameras were on him. I am sure he loves his picture taken.

A nice new sweater to wear. Happy Birthday Granpap. Hope you had a wonderful day.

Christmas Day at the Lees

We Spent Christmas Day with the Lees. We had a really nice dinner and visited and played a new game "Would you Rather". It was a nice day, made even better by being at Jodies house and not having to clean up after the party was over. Here are a few pictures of us.

The Waken Family

The whole Group.

Phillip teaching Baby Logan to stick out his tongue. He was holding him and he likes to tip over backwards and started sticking out his tongue. He spent most of the afternoon this way. It was so cute.

Reading a story to Logan. We can hardly wait to be Grandparents and have our own little grandbaby. Thanks to Jody and Paul for having us over and for the fun day.

Christmas Morning 2008

Christmas Morning. After 20 years of being drug out of bed by kids, this year Diane was the first one up. Phillip and Jenny were coming over at 7:30 to open presents with us, so the girls and Phill all slept in. A tradition in Jenny's family is to have Egg Nog and Cinnamon Rolls so she brought some over for us all to share. It was a nice morning and everyone was happy. Here are a few pictures.

Phill got John Bytheway cds. It was a boxed set. He loves to listen to John when he drives to work.
A Lady at Phills work did pencil drawing of all the kids for me. They turned out really nice. This is one of Phillip and Jenny.

Connie opening a gift.

The Lee's got us this nice clock for Christmas. Now we have to find a place big enough for it.

Jenny opens a new High Chair for the Baby.

Phillip gets a shop vac. Now Phill can have his back.

Amanda gets a new Twilight Hoodie. "Are you afraid"

Megan loves Mustangs so she got a Mustang shirt.

Connie gets her Thunderbird.

Enjoying the morning.

We had a wonderful morning. We are so thankful for the Christmas season, and for our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity we have to spend time together as a family.

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas Eve we always go over to Grandma and Grandpa Wakens house for the evening. Grandpa always reads the Christmas Story from the Bible and then Twas the Night before Christmas. It is always fun to spend the evening with Grams and Gramps.

Ward Christmas Party 2008

Here are a few pictures at our Ward Christmas Party
Connie, Megan and Brandi Eating. Brandi is the granddaughter of one of my Cousins way back.

Amanda sitting on Santas lap. Guess what she wants for Christmas. Megan and Connie had moved on to other activities so we did not get pictures of them and Santa this year.

Phill and Diane with Santa.

Santa is all done and heading back up the Chimney.

Our First Snow

One night I woke up and Phill was missing. I found him in the Loft taking pictures of the snow our our back window. It was so beautiful he wanted to capture it. Later that morning he caught a picture of the birds in our trees. I feed them and when the weather gets bad there could be 50 or 60 in the trees.
